The Amazon Rainforest in South America is teeming with various different creatures, including 3,000 species of fish, 1,300 types of birds, and more than 2.5 million different kinds of insects. The Amazon is home to more than 40,000 varieties of plants and 390 billion individual trees.
It is actually the world’s largest tropical rainforest, covering 5.5 million square kilometres, and is so big that it could actually fit the UK and Ireland into it a whopping 17 times!
Here at Deep Sea World, the rainforest exhibit allows you to head out on a lifelike exploration through the Amazon where you can hear the sounds of buzzing insects, a frog chorus, bird calls, and rumbling thunder. Simulating the Amazon River, you’ll get a spectacular feel for what it’s like to be within an unique forest symphony.
