Fishy Facts
Did you know the largest shark known to us was called Megalodon which lived around 250 million years ago! This shark grew to an amazing 18 metres in length!
Did you know sharks don’t have scales like fish do. Their body is covered in hundreds of tiny teeth called Dermal-denticles or ‘skin teeth.’
Did you know the biggest fish in the world is also one of the most harmless – the Whale shark. It measures on average 15 metres long and weighs about 13 tonnes. It swims slowly through the sea with its mouth open filtering millions of tiny creatures from the water.
